The chairman of the Calabar south local government in Cross Rivers state, Esther Bassey, has passed on.
It was reported that Bassey died after attending political meeting on how to perfect the presidential election scheduled for Saturday.
The council chairman was said to have passed on in the early hour of Friday morning at around 4am when she was at sleep.
